Open any dataset directly with EPDF (skip 3.4)

Why to go to 3.4 option each time I have to see my dataset or PDS member. Is there any shortcut for this?

Solution

Yes, there is EPDS command which can be helpful to view/edit browse any Dataset or PDS member directly

Syntax

EPDF ‘<dataset-or-pds(member) -name>’ OPTION

Where, OPTION can be BROWSE/ViEW. By default this will be EDIT

Important

Note:- You can’t pass EDIT as option to open dataset in EDIT mode. Keeping option field blank will automatically open in dataset in edit mode

Below is example to directly VIEW my PS dataset, If I omit VIEW in below statement then datset would have opened in EDIT mode

To edit member AGABVSE3 of my PDS I will pass below command:-
