COMPARE command - a SuperCE alternative that pulls lines

Is there alternative to SuperCE option (3.13) for comparing between any mainframe elements (PS to PS, PS to Member of PDS or vice versa). And what if you want to pull missing line from compared file to currently opened file. Below is solution to both of these problems

Solution

- Yes, There is one ISP Command “COMPARE” which can directly help in comparing two files. Below is how to use it.

Screenshot 1

Once you press enter you will see difference

Screenshot 2

In above screenshot, “======” in line number filed indicates that this line is missing in currently opened file. And label i.e. “.OAAAA” indicates line which is present in current file but not in FILE2.

Important

If you want to pull missing line from FILE2 and make it part of FILE1 just type “MD“ somewhere between “======” and press enter as shown below. That’s it. Now you can save it to persist this change

Screenshot 3

If you want only changes to be listed then issue “COMP ‘FILE_NAME’ X “
